Josh Hamner is gearing up for this weekend’s Rattler 250 Super Late Model race at South Alabama Speedway. With the Rattler becoming one of the premier Super Late Model races in the country, Hamner is definitely excited. The Rattler also takes place in Hamner’s home state of Alabama. With two years of experience in this event, Hamner and his team are hoping for a great run this year.
“We have been good both years we have gone to the Rattler,” said Hamner. “The first year we led a bunch and last year we had some mechanical issues that didn’t allow us to race our car. We borrowed a car from Jeff Fultz and got a decent finish with no practice in the car. That’s a big confidence booster, finishing well with a car that we were not accustomed to.
“This year is going to be an exciting year for us at The Rattler. We are going to be driving for Justin Drawdy in the #12 car this weekend. We have been working at the shop getting ready to take on the 250 laps. We’ll have our crew guys along with some of Drawdy’s guys as well. Gary Crooks and I have been working together and I think that it will be an interesting race between my driving and his knowledge.”
The Rattler 250 Super Late Model race will be held on Sunday, March 8th, in Opp, Alabama.
