Hamner Heartbreaks Continue at Montgomery
Alabama Driver Gets Spun Out of the Lead With Two to Go
You can’t control what others do on the race track.  Josh Hamner learned that lesson early in his racing career, but was reminded of it once again on Saturday night at Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL) in the Show Me The Money event.  For the second time this season, Hamner lost the lead at Montgomery in the closing laps.

This time, when the checkered flag final came out Hamner ended up with a head-scratching fourth-place finish.

“We didn’t have the best car at the end of the race, but it was good enough to be leading the race late,” explained Hamner.  “When the #2 car (John Bolen) got to me, he had a faster car, but he decided to drive through me instead of going around me.  The track officials put us both to the rear and that ended our night as far as winning goes.”

After the late misfortune, Hamner raced his way back to fourth and received fourth-place money at the pay window, so the night ended at least with a top-five finish.

“We fought the rain all night and someone dumped oil all over the track and we stopped to clean it up,” added Hamner.  “It was a tough night.  I am not sure if we’re in a bad luck spell or what.   I knew there were two laps to go and I was ready for some hard racing, but (Bolen) just drilled me.  I thought I cut him a lot of slack at Pensacola a few weeks back, but you can’t control what someone is going to do, especially with two to go.”

Josh Hamner will take a few weeks off before he returns to seat of the Kyle Busch Motorsports #51 Toyota for the next round of the Blizzard Super Late Model Series and the Miller Lite Series on August 13th and 14th.
